Editorial Guidelines

Suan exists to tell readers the practical truths most people learn too late. These guidelines describe the standards we hold ourselves to, and how we keep our journalism independent from our advertising.
Our mission
We report clearly and honestly on money, travel, consumer rights, the home, work and modern life. We favour usefulness over hype and evidence over opinion. If a piece cannot help a reader understand or decide something, it does not belong on Suan.
Accuracy and sourcing
We check claims before we publish and prefer primary sources and reputable references. When something is uncertain, we say so. We do not present estimates as established fact, and we do not invent statistics, quotes or examples.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and, where the change is significant, note that the article has been updated. To report an error, use our contact page.
No fabricated social proof
We never publish fake reviews, invented testimonials, fabricated reader comments or made-up earnings figures. Any real testimonial or data point is clearly attributed.
Independence from advertising
Suan is funded in part by advertising, including display and native placements. Our editorial team decides what we cover and what we conclude; advertisers do not. Advertising is always clearly labelled as such.
Sponsored and affiliate content
Where an article is sponsored, or where we may earn a commission if you act on a link, we disclose it plainly within the article. Commercial relationships never change our honest assessment of a product or service, and any comparison we publish includes genuine alternatives, not only partners.
No misleading claims
We avoid clickbait that the article cannot deliver on, and we do not make unproven claims about health, wealth or guaranteed outcomes. Where a topic carries risk — money, in particular — we include appropriate context and disclaimers.
Reader privacy and respect
We treat reader data carefully, as set out in our Privacy Policy, and we write for a general audience with respect and plain language.
